287 Park Avenue South

Originally known as the United Charities Building (or 105  East 22nd Street), the 109,573 square foot existing structure  was built

in 1892 by a wealthy New York banker, and formerly  housed the headquarters for the non-profit organization Unit-  ed Charities.

The 9-story building was designed by renowned  architect R.H. Robertson and was altered by James Baker in  1897 and again in

1915. This altered portion was sold in the  1980’s as 111 East 22nd Street and converted to commercial  use. The Property sits on

an 11,599 square foot lot with 59  feet of frontage along Park Avenue South and 150 feet along  East 22nd Street.
